Sao Paulo (SP) – Although she has not been able to finish the 11th race of the Renault Formula championship because of an accident on Sunday, on the Tarumã circuit in Porto Alegre (RS), Bia Figueiredo has succeeded to remain in third place on the season general ranking. On Saturday, the BARDAHL pilot won remarquably the first place (34 laps, in 38m52s353 and a speed average of 158,27 km/h) of the 10th race, improving her performance and still hoping to win this category title. The next race is scheduled for November 20, on a street circuit in Salvador (BA).
“I think I did well, I've given all the best I could to win this victory on Saturday and I was confident in the Sunday race but unfortunately I had an accident and had to give up. I was about to win when Marcos Gomes and myself collided", explains Bia.
Bia won the 3rd place, with 177 points, behind Felipe Lapenna who had 191 points and the leader Nelson Merlo, 225. “I won't give up as there remains 3 races”, says the Cesário Fórmula team pilot.
With the Saturday victory, Bia (Bardahl/Puma/Sky/Samsung) wins the three first places of this season. In addition to Tarumã, she won the Campo Grande (MS) race, in April, and the Vitoria (ES) race, in September. She remains confident and is preparing the Salvador street race, which will take place next month.
“We have won the only street race taking place and we will do our best to win this one. Although the circuit is new and we were given very little information on it, I am confident and don't want to miss such a good opportunity”, says Bia.
